With their debut album receiving a "Best New Music" nod from hype-machine, Pitchfork.com, Canadian garage rock duo Japandroids are already heading down the same successful track as peers No Age, Black Lips, and Times New Viking, despite having been together for only 3 years. The band's sparse and urgent arrangements mix impeccably with fervent, doubled vocals to create a surprisingly lush sound that would fit perfectly in basement parties and rock venues alike. In just one listen of their stellar first album, Post-Nothing, it's no wonder Japandroids have been showered with accolades from both critics and fans. This time around it may actually be smart to buy into the hype.
