Built to Spill is a band rooted in what Rolling Stone calls 'grounded daydreaming.' This prolific group, with seven albums under their collective belt, are comprised of founder Doug Martsch (vocals, guitar), Brett Nelson (bass), Brett Netson (guitar), Jim Roth (guitar), and Scott Plouf (drums). On October 6th they released their latest album, the 10-track There Is No Enemy, and they've been on the road since August promoting it. An eclectic mix of indie, surf, and pop rock, each BTS album has had a different feel as they've moved through their iterations of sound and band members, but each one has kept the distinct edge of Martsch's voice layered over catchy, guitar-driven riffs.
