San Francisco
Bay Area folk artist Emily Jane White may remind you of Cat Power and the like, but she is definitely eking her own unique niche. Her sorrowful lyrics and soulful delivery are the perfect accompaniment for examining all the things that have gone wrong in your life. Emily Jane White's maintenance of minor chords throughout her songs helps reinforce her themes of detachment and silent ire. White released her first album, Dark Undercoat, in early November of 2007 and we are eagerly awaiting future releases. You'd do well to get yourself into a somber, misty eyed mood and listen to her live over a glass of bourbon.
