I've been a fan of Mates of State for a long time, and they're nowhere near as big as they should be.  This husband and wife duo has been doing their indie rock thing since 1996, when they formed in Lawrence, Kansas. They are certainly talented couple, and the music has none of those, "they're good but...", or, "I wish they..." moments.
