The Strange Boys uphold their hometown mantra to "Keep Austin Weird" by bringing back rambling jams that echo the recent 60's revival of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Black Lips. The rhythm section lays a jangling base, dotted with classic riffs and infused with garage rock feedback. Add in Ryan's Shiner Bock-addled vocals and you've got a sound that's both timely and timeless. If you weren't too happy with Bob Dylan's latest release, you could easily queue up The Strange Boys' LP, And Girls Club, alongside Blonde on Blonde and feel like you've come full circle.
