Hey everyone, do you like sample-based experimental music? That's good. You've come to the right place. If, however, you also desire pop sensibility, hooks, riffs, and/or basic song structure -- you might be advised to look elsewhere. Lucky Dragons could be a band that divides people into two camps: those who get it and those who don't. While I find the way they weave non-musical sounds into sonic mosaics, I can't help but feel like these field recordings are one step too close to white noise. Every now and then there are whispers of melody that suggest songwriting in addition to sonic experimentation, but all too often I'm left at a loss, left yearning for something like The Books and Animal Collective, rather than a free-form sea of words and animals running amok.
